Palm Tree????

Hey all you craft nerds out there! Here's a lovely little tree for you to make if you are wanting so desperately for it to be summer again! This will take some prior planning, but I believe in you.

Materials!

Two very long cardboard tubes (wrapping paper tubes)

Hot Glue

Popsicle Sticks

Pipe Cleaners (aka chenille sticks)

Duct tape (preferably green or brown)

brown paper

Step 1- Using the duct tape, tape your tubes together. Then cut to the length you want your tree to be!

Step 2- Glue all your green papers together and cut out some very long leaf shapes. Here is where you will use google to see what shape to make the leaves. As you can see it took me a few tries to get it right.

Step 3- Glue together 3 craft sticks in a line and attach this to your leaf. Make sure it hangs over the edge a little bit. Then add 2 pipe cleaners twisted together to the end. This gives it the nice "palm tree" kind of shape.

Step 4- hot glue on the brown paper to give your tree a bark type look. (and laugh at the failed leaf on the floor)

Step 5- Now use the duct tape to attack your leaves in whatever way you like. Drape it over the top and attach it to the tube at the sides. Then use another piece of tape to go around the outside of the top to hold them all in place.

Ta-da!

And there you have it folks! If you found any way that works better and making the leaves the right shape and actually behaving like palm leaves, please comment on the pin of this craft on pinterest.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
