Wall Hanging

Welcome all! Today I have a craft for you to try that can really be a stand for the environment.

One item that is not often recycled is paper. So you can (if you want) use newspaper instead of origami paper (which was the only one I had on hand). Let's dive right in to the craft!

What you will need: paper of some kind (cut into a square the size of origami paper, which is 6 inches by 6 inches), embroidery floss (or just plain string), a few perler beads (or just beads you don't like), a stick, hot glue, tape, and some scissors.

Next what you want to do is choose what theme you want to make your hanging. Mine was ocean themed, so I looked up how to do dolphins, shells, and turtles. If you aren't into origami, or just don't want to learn, you can just cut shapes out of normal paper. For origami tutorials I recommend Art for Kids Hub. You can check out their website or look them up on YouTube.

Once you have those made, attach the embroidery floss (also known as friendship thread) to the back. Take a small bead, tie it to the end of the thread, and tape it on the back of your origami.

Next, arrange your origami on the stick and tie them in place. Take the twine and make a hanging strap for your hanging! You're done!

Enjoy!

Embers and flames,

Crafty Dragon
